UGEI - Union of Jewish Students in Italy
Ugei joins and represents the young Jews of Italy, approximately five thousand persons. Founded in 1995, Ugei has a relatively recent history, but it's the direct heir of Fgei (federation of the Italian young Jews), organization founded just after the second world war in order to coordinate the big number of local young Jewish associations. Ugei provides for the organization of events, not only for its members: seminaries on specific topics, meetings with personality from the world of politics and culture, and recreational moments, like this Winter-J. More and more often Ugei works in collaboration with the homologous associations of other European countries and with the European Union of Jewish Students, in accordance with the long tradition of the European Jews to feel themselves as citizens of the entire continent. More about our mission and activities you can find on our website.

Danube - Weinberg Region
The Danube Weinberg Region represents a new initiative of JDC Community Development, with the support of the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation, aimed at developing creative Jewish frames in order to empower people to participate, take action, and experience regional activities with other people living in Central Europe. To help students, young adults, community professionals, volunteers, active members and community leaders realize and develop their potential by giving them opportunities to be exposed to the diversity of Jewish life, professional assistance in the community field, and freedom of making their own choice for the best of their community. To bridge communities and foster a strong support system for isolated communities dealing with problems of critical mass. To provide an opportunity for unaffiliated Jews from different places to connect to Judaism and Jewish life. To nurture a synergy circle inspiring participants to bring the enthusiasm of regional initiatives back to their own communities. The communities which are part of the region are Austria, Czech Republic, Croatia, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Switzerland. |
